 First Term Notes:

Grammar:

Noun:

Naming words are called noun e.g. people, animals, places and things like girl, book, pen, duck.

Pronoun:

Words used in place of noun are called pronoun e.g. I, we, you, they etc.

Verb:

The action words are called verb e.g. run, drink, play, sit, stand, read, write

Rhyming words:

Words with same ending sound e.g. pen-hen, down-crown and shoe-two.

Digraphs:

When two letters make one sound e.g. ch, sh, ph

Singular:

One person, place or thing is called singular.

Plural:

More than one person, place or thing are called plural.

Article:

If a word start with consonant ‘a’ is used before it. If word start with vowel ‘an’ is used.

Adjective:

Words used to describe noun or pronoun..

Preposition:

Position words: Tells us about position or place of noun.

Is, am, are:

Used to describe a person, place or thing e.g. I am a girl. He is a boy. We are classmates.

     ii.            Allah has created many creatures.

  iii.            Air, water, milk, vegetables and meat are some of it.

   iv.            Our health is the biggest blessing of Allah.

     ii.            It is a small village.

Second Term Notes:

Grammar:

Syllables:

Parts of a word when pronounced.

Article:

Used with vowel letters – ‘a’, ‘an’, ‘the’

Masculine:

Refers to male noun.

Feminine:

Refers to female noun.

Has / have:

Used to show possession. Has is used with singular and have with plural.

Common noun:

The name of a general / common person, place or thing e.g. boy, city, book etc

Proper noun:

The name of a specific person, place or thing e.g. Faisal, Karachi, Holy Quran etc.

Pointing words:

Used to point people or things like this, that, these, those.

Essays:

       i.            We should use roads carefully.

     ii.            Use zebra crossing while crossing roads.

  iii.            See the traffic lights before crossing road.

   iv.            Use footpath for walk along side of roads.

     v.            Always follow traffic rules.

Third Term Notes:

Grammar:

Punctuation:

Full stop (.), Question mark (?), Exclamation mark (!) are punctuation.

Question words:

Words used to as questions. What, where, when, who, why

Comma:

Used to separate three or more words in a series of a sentence.

Command:

When we ask somebody to do something.

Request:

Ask somebody politely for something.

Can/may:

Used to ask permission.

       i.            We should not tell a lie.

     ii.            We should not quarrel.

  iii.            We should not make our home / school dirty.

   iv.            We should not make noise in classroom.

     v.            We should not cut the trees without planting new.

1.     We should help others.

2.     If somebody is in trouble and needs help, we must help.

3.     We should always get ready to help and feel proud.

4.     Helping others is a good habit.
